Ghosts and Stories

The weight bears down on me
with every ghostly ring.
You and I are different souls.
My spirit fits no mold.
Life is more than car and house,
the one you aspire to espouse,
the twice weekly pilgrimage,
and constant threat of sacrilege.
Why not be free and love?
Spend some time here above
the lonely life of cat and mouse.
Why won't you venture out?
